empowering trauma-sensitive reform

Calm Kit

This kit is designed for educators and those who work with children to have a basic kit of tools and ideas for helping students to “Get Regulated” (one of the trauma-informed essentials taught at ATN).

10-Inch Glitter Wand. Can be used for mindful breathing and reflection.

Silicone Sponge. Good for tactile and proprioceptive sensory input. Can easily be carried and also popped into the microwave to sanitize. Doesn’t hurt if thrown.

Pinwheel. Great tool to help younger children learn “belly breathing” because they have to take a deep breath and then slowly exhale.

Connected Messages. Relationship-building notes to give to students.

Trauma-Sensitive Schools Magnet.

Trauma-Sensitive Educator Cards. Quick reminder of the essentials of Creating Trauma-Sensitive Schools.

Regulation Overview Card. A brief overview of how and why to teach regulation.

Available individually or in bulk.
