Robert Burroughs: School in an Attachment-Focused Residential Program

Join Bob Burroughs, Head of School at CALO, an attachment-focused residential treatment center, as he explains the strategies they use to integrate academics and learning into a program focused on treating attachment and trauma. Focusing on the importance of relationships, CALO’s educational strategies can apply to other educational settings, such as self-contained classrooms or specialized schools or even parents homeschooling children with severe attachment and trauma impairments. We will be discussing how trauma and anxiety impact learning and how social and relational challenges can sabotage a child’s academic successes.
